Both Nottingham City and Nottingham County Council, while recognising their legal obligation to offer Direct Payments to all in receipt of care as a care option, also realise that Direct Payments promote independence and choice and, with the present agenda of moving care towards Self Directed Support, are a valuable forerunner of the changes to come.
