Whizz Kidz

The latest Whizz-Kidz newsletter (October 2011) contains information on a new fundraiser, Ambassador Club dates and ad hoc worker opportunity.

Whizz Kidz is a charity whose aims are all about giving disabled children and young people the independence to enjoy an active childhood at home, at school and at play. By providing them with customised mobility equipment, training, advice and life skills, we actually give them something much more important; the independence to be themselves. We make an immediate and life changing difference to their lives and their families.

There is no cost for young people to attend the clubs, and we provide qualified Personal assistants to support the young people, and where necessary we can provide a nurse and transport

Ambassador clubs are an opportunity for disabled young people aged 10-25 to engage socially with other disabled young people whilst learning new skills and trying new activities. The clubs are aimed at young disabled wheelchair user who have little or no learning difficulties.

These Clubs usually take place every 6-8 weeks and engage Ambassadors in various campaigns and fundraising initiatives, as well as help to prepare them for the workplace.
